Our nation is being destroyed before our very eyes! …and no one seems to understand why.

 

The problem revealed

Today, not even 1% of parents who regularly attend church are familiar enough with the Ten Commandments to name all ten. God declares His displeasure for this in Hosea 4:6 “…seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”

 

A curse upon our children

God warns us that He will remove His hand of protection from our children if we neglect His law. And if there was ever a group that is being deceived and destroyed today, it is our children. Our children and grandchildren are paying the price of our neglect.

 

Looking at just the near future

Everyone knows that our nation cannot continue much longer on the path we are on: Our sins are finding us out.

 

You can change America and here’s how

 

The future of our nation does not hinge on who we elect to the presidency or Congress, but on how we raise our children.

 

Our responsibility is to obey God, His part is to protect His people.

 

“Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways! I should soon should have subdue their enemies and turned my hand upon their adversaries.” –Psalm 81:13-14

 

How then do we raise our children?

When we search the Bible, there is only one set of instructions that gives us the complete framework for raising our children. It tells us the who, what, when, where, how and why for godly child rearing. It is found in Deuteronomy 6:4-9. Observant Jews call this the “Shama.” Shama is the Hebrew word for “hear” which is the first word of this passage.

 

4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: 5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. 9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

God repeats these detailed instructions from Deuteronomy 6:4-9 in Deuteronomy 11:18-21 and adds a promise. He says that if we, as parents, would:

1. Follow His commandments ourselves,

2. Teach them to our children daily,

3. Display a copy of the Ten Commandments in our home “…write them upon the door posts of thine house.” –Deuteronomy 11:20

4. God's promise then is that our days and the days of our children would be “as the days of heaven upon the earth.”

 

A history of failure

Since 1973, 51 years, the murder of innocent babies has been “legal” in this country. And after half a century there is still no plan to end it. The statement: “There is little prayer, public or private, for the end of abortion,” says it all.

 

We don’t have 51 years to solve this problem!

 

How God heals nations

When a nation needs to be healed, it is only by the repentance of God’s people that that will happen. [Psalm 81:13-14, II Chronicles 7:14, II Corinthians 10:6]

 

It is natural for all of us to focus on what others are doing wrong. However, God is focused on the lives of His people. We must change our ways and live differently.

 

Here is what I am prosing…

 

Display • Learn • Teach 

 

1. Display the Ten Commandments at your home…as God says.

 

   2.Learn the Ten Commandments well enough to teach them to your children.

 

   3.Teach God’s law to your children daily.

 

 

“The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream…”

We have a vision to see one million born-again Christians displaying the Ten Commandments at their home and following these other two principles. Would be one who would take a stand?

 

After decades of neglect, we need to let God know that we are not ashamed of Him or His law.
